Letter to Al Gore about a Naturestudio project

Dear Al Gore,

Thank you from my heart for your care for nature and mankind.

Here is what I wrote to an Audio Visual Funds giving organization about our Garden Angel project.

WE CO-CREATE or CO-PRODUCE WITH NATURE,

For example in creating a garden which provides a nature reserve for bio diversity, as Myriam Vandenberghe did in our atelier in Europe, or simply taking inspiration from nature for our work, and promoting it, inspiring people to do the same.

Our philosophical works, drawing, painting and photos are based on the creative mind which can be sensitive to the wonders of the ever new and artistic forms of Nature itself.

The reason for the project Garden Angel, is the goal of Naturestudio,

(A WZV or non-profit society).

(Article 2).a. To promote spiritual self awareness to counterbalance to the spiritual poverty in this World.

b. To sensibilise people for the beauty of nature and the good heart through art and philosophy.

c. To find peaceful solutions to world conflicts

d. To promote better relationships through the creation of philosophic cultural and art works projects and events.

We ask people to stop destroying nature and the world we live with all the disrespect and useless vanity and wars.

Naturestudio literally means the atelier is Nature.

This is my questioning of some contemporary concepts of Art:

What is more art ?

'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,-that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know'. (Keats).

What is more Art, what is to Create, in the true sense of the word in the deepest sense? A 'manipulation' of images, no matter how commercial, low and vulgar, as we find everywhere in commercial and false publications and in the web, (such as much of that "power boasting","power loving" Rap music graffiti art of street mafia and criminal gangs, or silly soap opera exaggerations, Flemish or not, or an act if spiritual integrity and compassion, even if it is just A STATE OF BEING?

IF a funds organization is more intend on sponsoring the first, because it can sell, and not the second, our concept of art is not compatible.

Being is the ultime art in life. How can that which is and sounds false be more art than that which is and sounds true, in whatever expression of being.

One can only create, in the true sense of the word, by promoting spiritual self awareness, and that is only possible through being spiritually self aware oneself. All the rest is futility.

In a geographic way, what the scenario is and where: between a tropical forest river and a private 'nature reserve' in the heart of Gent, Myriam's garden.

About the personage, Myriam is a poetic personage in herself, as nature is, and to be sensitive to her as to be sensitive to nature is to be inspired, and even if she or nature have unreasonable sides, they inspire you to be a philosopher.

QUESTION TO OBAMA

Dear Obama, first let me congratulate you for the simplicity and the positive power of your last speech

You spoke about building the future.

You said among other things that America cares for the quality of food, water and air in America.

As a nature lover, nothing makes me more depressed than to see the rate at which human development greatly has and continues to pollute land and the seas, destroying the natural beauty almost everywhere in this planet with its unrestricted procreation and busy, noisy progress frenzy.

My question is:

With all the talk on building the future, has America, this nation of great inventors of the modern way of life, concrete plans and acts to help NATURE WORLDWIDE to be restored from the enormous worldwide pollution created by technological progress, by plastics, for example, plans on investing in methods like that of Japan, for recycling plastic back to oil, on serious scientific competitive research on how to recycle atomic waste??

What is relevant in Art for Canvascollectie?

OUR STANDPOINTS AND QUESTIONS

If one is concerned with the style of frames on a painting, for example, if they are modern or not in style, is that relevant to the world today?

It is not because a form is modern in style that is true in the spirit, but if an art is timeless, the other way around is true.

If a work is true and beautiful in spirit and form, it is always actual.

I am not prejudicing a work because it is modern. That is in fact the meaning of my Abstract Waterforms 1 video, to convey how abstract can be an aspect of nature, and a work based on abstract forms like this, can be spiritual in the sense that it can help people to see what is.

See the overwhelming beauty and richness we have in nature, which the world is destroying if it does not see.

Can you guarantee me that modern art is not prejudicing fine spiritual works( like those of Myriam Vandenberghe), simply because they are not modern in style??

Is it relevant to the world, for example, a work , even if modern in style, when it only adds to the existing pollution and insensibility, producing cloacas, for example, excrements out of good food, as art, in a world where people are dying of hunger, or tattooing pigs in a world animals like these live in dungeons only for consumption, is this more spiritual and relevant to the world today?

I am here to listen and try to understandn because as I see, for someone to label a work which expresses a profound state of communion with nature and life as a 'mere decoration' , simply because it is not modern in style, is indeed an unfair , tragic-comic projection.

A true, just or kind spirit is still good, without a form. But what is a form, however modern, without true spirit?

If a work is about form, or a style, and never mind the spirit, the justice, the truth, never mind the health the life the peace in this world, even if it is modern, is it relevant contemporary art?

Without the sensibility which true love gives to us, is any work relevant to the world?

When a true spirit takes form, no matter the style, it is art.

Once I heard the question: -" Can Art save the world?".

What can save the world is not a matter of taste but of consciousness. Not a mode, a style of Art. but to unite a true, and kind and just spirit in action, in whatever work we do.

To be humble enough to see what is, and not prejudge anyone, anything not even out of belief.

There is nothing substantially new in a work of art, or revolution, when you substitute one vanity of power for another, one prejudice for another.

Here is an interesting argument to the recent discussion in Nederland with fundamentalist Jews and Muslims who do not want to give up their unnecessarily cruel "sacred" traditions before the options of a more humane sedated animal slaughter law :

According to a documentary on TV about Mecca, in memory of Abraham, one is asked to kill, or have a sheep killed for them, one sheep per person or seven persons or family in Mecca, as part of a religious ritual duty. What if you are a vegetarian? There is no real need to kill to eat if you are a vegetarian.

(Maybe in the time of Abraham it was not possible to live as a vegetarian, there was only desert, grass and sheep, like in deserts, in some parts of Africa and Afghanistan today...) But if the Islam obliges men to do that, even today, the Islam is a religion whose “Most merciful” God Allah encourages, if not obliges people to be a carnivore. ( Surah 3:85 'If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good.'). If you think that not SPIRITUAL SELF AWARENESS, OR FAITH IN LOVE, but the ISLAM of Mohammed is the only acceptable religion for the whole of humanity, then, if ALLAH tells you to kill, even if it makes no sense, as a Muslim you must obey. You are forced to live as a carnivore, even if you can live as a vegetarian; and this is absurd. And the picture becomes bad if anywhere in the Koran it is written that the faithful to Allah must kill the unbeliever, unfaithful to Mohammed’s Allah: Quran (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]...and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah." THIS IS in contradiction with ‘LOVE YOUR ENEMIES’ of JESUS.

And the picture becomes horrible indeed if For refusing to murder a sheep for a ritual in Mecca, being as a harmless vegetarian Buddhist or Hindu, for example, or refusing the crime to kill any human being for a difference of belief, one could be considered an unbeliever, and risk to be murdered by followers of Mohammed as the Taliban. Then this verse in the Quran (2:191-193) would lead indeed to a hell of indiscriminate murder hate as we see in Afghanistan and Iraq today, rather than to a heaven of love.

This would be absurd and a crime against humanity according to Human Rights and the European and Western World Laws. The best wishes to all of you

There were questionable affirmations in the film on BBC about the life of Mohammed.

One of them is that the Prophet Mohammed in his last speech, said that believers and unbelievers as black and white people) were alike.

This is really a wishful thinking teaching, seen many underlying Koranic texts that prejudice all unbelievers and justify and even gratify real horrors from believers towards unbelievers.

If it was true Mohammed said this, why is it then that to enter Mecca today one has be a Muslim?

If this was a true essential message of Mohammed as messenger, he deserved indeed to be among those who bring true wisdom and peace and not bloody fratricide wars to all humanity.

If he contradicted himself about this, the result is for ever unclarity;

and tragically unquestionable and unquestioning militants of the Islam will continue to kill their brothers for a different interpretation of belief.

Any belief which has no other argument than murder against those who disbelieve cannot be truly intelligent. Only the clarity of love will set us free, even from Mohammed and the like..

Somehow the web experience seems

at times like a detective story with money making business

(companies of software or other products,

or greedy and deceitful individuals) as the possible suspects of web

official, organized mafia or individual criminality.

And when we are true, we can become as a

lonely inspector or detective, questioning

everything for the truth in other

people, and disclosing the falseness and

intrigues we meet on our way in the virtual

world of the world-wide-net and

informatica.

But in the level of personal relations,

particularlly in our love and romantic

relations, we have to be prepared to face the same delusion,

in a psicological and philosophical way,

in the other and in oneself, if we are true, and long for a true

love or true relation with the other.

Dear OBAMA REMEMBERING 11 SEPTEMBER

Looking for the way to help prevent further acts of Islamic extremist terrorism.

The only way I see is through sharing wisdom, love and understanding, like in the work of a man called J Krishnamurti. His works should be made available to people in the Arab speaking countries where we see people shooting each other while both are crying; ‘Allah is great’!

And Krishnamurti is already dead, so no one could not do him any harm now for his wisdom and integrity.

This is an argument against the violence in the Koran:

There is no Justice without love, without being truthful, without wishing to create understanding.

One cannot do justice by punishing a crime (or what you consider a crime) with another crime. One cannot do justice by murder; by hand cutting, stoning or torturing what is a much worse crime.

What a Muslim, following the Koran may call justice, can be a much greater crime.

What a Muslim following the Koran may call love can be sheer pride, possession, domination and or unquestioning submission.

One cannot enlighten someone by killing him.

Self defence is just self defence, not philosophic or spiritual justice. Though to take the head of a terrorist organization, as Bin Laden, is infinitely better than to declare war on a country, or on people who predict a religion as extremists do, following blindly anyone they consider the word of God.

If you say America is not and will never be at war with the Islam.

I understand by that you say that consciousness is not at war with someone but simply sees what is wrong in his or her thinking, and in doing so, is free of it. To hate is not to be free of it. But to see something as it is is to be free of it.

Anyway it is better to hate falsity (for example in an ideology or belief ) than to hate the people who might be with false thoughts, false beliefs or under an illusion.

Even so, it is better to kill a head mass murderer criminal terrorist than to let a terrorist inspire others to kill a nation of people, just because they were Americans, or Jews, or Christians as Bin Laden would have liked to.

If you read the life of the Prophet , and the Koran, like Bin Laden, they promote discrimination of people according to their belief and sentence those ultimately to subjulgation, slavery or death, if they do not willingly convert to the Islam.

But If you say that terrorism is not a part of the true Islam,

What do you do with sentences in the Koran like: (Surah 4:89 -"Those who reject Islam must be killed. If they turn back (from Islam), take (hold of) them and kill them wherever you find them...")?

And if you admit that terrorism is indeed part of the Islam, that its deology promotes the opposite of what you stand for (freedom from discrimination on basis of belief, and belief on the essential consciousness in all humans), do you think the solution will be in killing those who follow the fundamental violence of this ideology, or in revealing, bringing to light the contradictions within this ideology, therefore helping to free the minds of fanatic blind followers, even if Muslims might take any criticism on their belief as war against the Islam and as a reason for war against you?

For Muslims dialogue with unbelievers is not desirable because one may not question the Belief of the Prophet. In fact, as I wrote to President Bush, terrorists are not afraid of bombs, but of questions.
