Great music is born with wings, and to give wings, not hooks.
Created to inspire, to lift all who listen, not to burden.
True music as true art is born of a still moment when the heart's truthfulness and generosity overflows. It is the outburst of joy, of pain, of all we feel and live, before the all embracing eyes of poetry, of that consciousness which unites us all, like a spiritual water, given freely and freely shared.
What will be left of the sacredness and nobility of music, when instead of feeling honoured, a composer would charge people, find you in debt to him (asking so much per song, per time, per year) if you listen or share the song of his heart freely with the world???
Then music, a song from the heart, would no longer be a spiritual gift, but a loan with interests rates.
Not as free air to all, but as traded earthly goods, added to the burden of needless bureaucracy and monetary debts we carry in our man made world.
The copyrights regulations in this sense have gone too far.
And if we look at the spiritual expression to which much of the most popular modern music corresponds to, we might find its soul has become impoverished by the vanity and greed for power, name, external form, or commercial interests.
Rules which make you turn anti clockwise with the spiritual evolution of humanity are bound to create disharmony within us and society.
To promote the unquestionability of a ruling power, rather than an ever deeper understanding between people, does not further the spiritual good of all, do not lift people above the blunt ego, but rather promotes it.
That creates endless unreasonable, possessive and violent relations between human beings and other living creatures.
And those organizations which capture music in their financial royalties cage, have they asked all the composers and musicians themselves, before attaching their hooks to their music and prohibiting them to fly to heaven?
When rules do not correspond to the feelings of the people, they are not destined to last. We can change them.
Great music is born with wings, not hooks.

SABAM and TALIBAN: AN INVITATION TO CHANGE-
To prohibit music as does the Taliban, as well as to make it prohibitive to those who cannot afford to pay the fees laid upon music- sharing, is to try to suffocate the human heart, a way to impoverish self expression and the most generous and noble forms of relation.
Today (year 2011), one finds prohibitions in records to be copied or even loaned or shared, even for private use. One receives the bill to pay fees to music copyright organizations even as a non-profit organization. For SABAM, even Kindergartens must be charged a music fee for playing or singing music with babies… Is that not gone too far?
As an author, I would liberate the sharing of my works to be quoted, in part or in whole, for noble purposes, and as a painter or photographer I am content to earn money if I sell my work, and will not put a royalty fee on it for every time they may be exhibited, photographed or shared for free
for the spiritual enrichment of the people. Why should I be different as a composer?
Governments should not cut in subsidies to the art, as they are doing in Holland, but cut down on the exploitation and impoverishment of the art for petty and greedy money gaining speculation, in particular how the freedom of sharing beauty and music and art freely to the public is impaired or hindered by this commercial mind from the part of record producers or impresarios or the music industry.
Music playing, listening or copying from radio or CD's for private use, as for public altruistic cultural purposes, as for the non profit sector -should be liberated.
In the websites of art and music copyright royalty gathering organizations , I miss is a list of the generous musicians or artists who distance themselves from the greediness of money interested 'royalties payment' policies for the mere seeing or reading or listening of their works or compositions.
Would you like to help compile members for such lists?
If so, if you are in any way related to the music, = a musician, a composer, a performer, an organizer, a conductor, a teacher, or a student, an amateur or simply a music lover, join those who ask lawmakers and politicians more laws for the freedom of culture art and music from the cages of financial speculators.
